Success is something that you define for yourself. It can have a different meaning for each person. Yet many people relate success to wealth or fame. The truth is that success is a sense of accomplishment, personal growth, enhancement of your daily life and all the things that are important to you personally. It is a change that hopefully results in contentment and serenity.

Ultimately success is based on two fundamental attributes that everyone must have, which are good character and patience.
 

"Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul." [Sura 91: Aya 9]

A purified soul implies good manners, as the Prophet tells us the importance of good character:

"There is nothing which will be put on the believer's scale that is heavier than good morals." [Sunan At-Tirmithi]

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from undesirable manners, deeds, and asprirations."

Further Allah mentions the importance of having patience in order to achieve success in the Quran:

"O believers, patiently endure, persevere, stand on guard, and be mindful of Allah, so you may be successful." [Sura 3: Aya 200]

"Our Lord, pour out on us patience, and allow us to die as Muslims."

This Dua is mentioned in the Quran [Sura 7: Aya 126], which not only asks for patience but also asks for a good ending from Allah . Patience here means perseverance, consistency in progress and the ability to commit towards the ultimate success - your hereafter.
